Leakage can affect many businesses without them ever knowing. As 98% of leaks are underground and therefore hard to detect, undetected leaks could be costing you thousands.
Swindon council noticed a potential leak via their fusion portal, where one of their meters was displaying continuous consumption of c. 2200 litres per hour. After investigating this increase and deeming it was not legitimate consumption the problem was now how to find and fix the leak.
Using a variety of methods, our team was able to identify the cause of the main leak as well as a further two smaller leaks. We also found and fixed several issues along the main line including a faulty stopcock and meter dial.
After these had been fixed there was a significant reduction in continuous consumption from c. 1900 litres per hour to 284 litres per hour. The equates to a potential annual saving of c. £25k (based on £1.50 for water)
Using a combination of the Fusion portal to spot the leak and our teams expertise and creative thinking to locate it the problem was quickly and efficiently fixed, saving Swindon council thousands a year.
