The last fourteen years has seen significant growth in our electronic meter reading market where the Datamatic, RouteSTAR MVP fourth generation route management system was designed for optimum scaleability, from single-licence stand alone applications to the most complex LAN/WAN topologies. The MTS RouteSTAR MVP solution reads meters from John O'Groats to Lands End with 00's of thousands meter index readings collected every year.

Our customer requests for improved efficiency and customer service improvements accentuated the need to develop remote meter reading solutions, where selective deployment of the low-power radio technology provided real return on our customers' investments. The FIREFLY (868 Mhz) remote meter reading system is compatible with virtually any water, gas or electric meter. The FIREFLY uses existing meters and registers and the ProfilePLUS functionality provids user-definable interval data at no extra cost and fully integrated with RouteSTAR MVP.

Most recently, the UK water market has seen a paradigm shift in their strategic planning and meter reading requirements. The growth in Domestic Water Meters has been relatively steady over the last ten years but the next decade will see a very high percentage of domestic properties having a water meter. For the South East of England, with demand outstripping supply and the demand increasing every minute of every day, metering data is paramount to their longer term business decisions.

This management decision data plus the need to introduce tariffs at Seasonal, Rising/Falling block and Social levels dictated that MTS provide full fixed networks. The HomeRider systems solutions, with over 700,000 MIU's already installed in Europe, provided the most resilient technology in the market today.
